Lindsey Dank of Gainesville, Florida is an artist described by the Bach Festival Society of Central Florida as a “didgeridoo player and crafter [who] takes his audience on a multi-sensory journey” with “high-energy rhythms” and “participatory music”. The didgeridoo, or “didge,” is a native Australian wind instrument that can be used to create music through controlled breath patterning, called circular breathing.

Lindsey, who has been playing and making his own unique style of didgeridoos for eight years, was recognized for his innovations in didge-crafting when “knighted” by Arthur Aveling, tool-inventor and owner of King Arthur’s Tools®. With these tools, Lindsey teaches how to make (and play) a hard-wood didgeridoo to keep during an exciting two day woodcarving workshop.

"Mr. Dank was at Jackson Middle school on May 23rd. We had nearly 450 IB (International Baccalaureate) students attend this demonstration. I saw students tapping their feet, clapping their hands, and nodding their heads with huge smiles on their face. Mr. Dank had a way with the students too. He had a gentle yet firm way of getting our students’ attention instantly. The demonstration was not all about music only. He had students learn about history, culture, and the process of building the musical instrument. He involved the students in making the music which excited the students to no end. Some of the teachers commented about how effective and interesting the show was. All in all, the demonstration was fabulous and Mr. Dank was a hit !"
